The 2012 ToH will be held on Sunday May 13th.
The 2011 Tour of the Heartlands took place on Sunday 15th May. It was a leisure cycle (short event) and sportif cycle (longer event after the split) consisting of two route options – 65 km and 146 km.
Both rides started from the Athlone Institute of Technology, Dublin Road, Athlone at 9.30am. Sign-on for both events will took place from 8.30am-9am. Entry fee was €15 for riders who are members of Cycling Ireland. One-day licences were available for an additional €10.
Support vehicles, water stops and food stops were provided on both routes. Changing and shower facilities were provided at the start/finish. Hot food will also be provided at the finish.
