‘A’ Group Spin
A miserable type of day didn’t deter big numbers of members from turning up today. 14 people rode in the A group. Flash met the soon to be retired Mr. Chips coming across the bridge and informed him that the A group were meeting at The Bounty. Mr. Chips had ridden over from Longford and proceeded to do the almost 100k with the A’s and then ride home to Longford again, Chapeau! Imagine when he retires and starts training full time 
The 2012 An Post Rás route, the sixtieth anniversary of the race, is announced. Laying out a battleground that features 28 categorised climbs, including three of the hardest and best-known ascents in the country, the race looks certain to provide riders with a challenging eight days of racing. Jan

Sunday spin Jan 29th
By Monty… About 15 braved the weather today with only Goldfinger and Wayne from the ‘A’s joining the ‘B’s. A quick phone call to Woof to see if there were many A’s at the Bounty with the hope of making up the numbers revealed that the auld dog didn’t want to get his paws wet and that he was going to round up a few ‘Die Hards’ for the afternoon.
